Strike anywhere matches
I found the strike anywhere matches at my local ACE hardware store this past weekend. The shelf was loaded with regular ones and a set of 6 plastic wrapped small boxes. The regular ones were only 99 cents a box and the small set of small ones were 6 boxes for 99 cents. Great deal. I picked up six of each.
My prep this week: The matches, some 223 and 30.06 ammo along with a gun cleaning kit. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. :-) Keep your powder dry!! |
Re: Strike anywhere matches
Ace is where I find them too.....but did find them in one local grocery store chain not long back. Never see them in the 'big' chains ( Kroger, Food Lion, etc ) or Walmart anymore.
I stock both kinds....the Strike on Box for future trade purposes. http://www.digistash.com/data/026a39...3_p114620.jpeg |
Re: Strike anywhere matches
Which has the longest shelf life, strike anywhere matches or disposable cigarette lighters?
I noticed that the flint strikers I use for cutting torches disintegrate after 2 or 3 years, I suppose the same would happen to bic lighters. |
Re: Strike anywhere matches
QWAK,The "FLINTS" decentigrate when exposed to moisture so to protect them they too need to be in air tight containers. The "FLINTS" I buy for my ZIPPOs are COATED but once the coating is scraped off they too begin decintigrating.
In disposable lighters the "FLINTS" are not coated because they are intended to be used and disposed of quickly and it is a unnessary expence that the manufacture does not pay in favor of higher profits. One other thing, with disposable lighters there is the posability of leakage of the gas over time so some may just be "SPARKERS" not "LIGHTERS" years later when you go to use them. the DUCK |
